ALL VISION CHECKS
Check your vision or select a specific check
1. Find the gap
Check how sharp your vision is with our visual acuity check.
Why check your visual acuity?
Vision changes gradually, so small changes may go unnoticed. Regular eye checks are important, and you can use our screenings followed by a full exam with an optician.
How do we check your visual acuity?
An optician will test your vision using the Landolt C, a ring with a gap at a specific position. You’ll identify the gap’s location, and the symbols will get smaller until you can no longer recognize them.
Normal vision vs. Blurred vision
2. Detect differences
Our contrast vision check evaluates how well you see contrasts.
Why check your contrast vision?
Contrast vision, which helps detect different shades of grey, is crucial for things like night vision. Since it changes gradually, you might not notice small differences in your vision. Regular eye checks are important, and you can use our screening followed by a full exam with an optician.
How do we check your contrast vision?
The contrast vision check is similar to the visual acuity test and uses the Landolt C symbol, a ring with an opening at a defined position. In this test, the grey shade gradually lightens. You simply identify the position of the gap and mark it on the corresponding ring below.

3. See the rainbow
Can you tell colours apart clearly? Our colour vision check will see how well.
Why check your colour vision?
Color vision, the ability to detect different colors and shades, is a key part of human sight. “Color blindness” refers to color vision deficiencies, often inherited and changing gradually. Good color vision is important in daily life, influencing areas like education, exam performance, and career choices.
How do we check your colour vision?
The color vision check is based on the trusted work of Dr. Shinobu Ishihara. People with normal vision can read the numbers on the Ishihara plates, while those with color vision issues may have difficulty seeing them. The test is done with both eyes at once, as unilateral deficiencies are rare. Our screening is a good indicator, but it’s not a substitute for a full ophthalmological exam.
Normal colour vision vs. Colour anomalies (Protanopia)
4. Beat the blur
Check for signs of astigmatism.
Why check for astigmatism?
Astigmatism is a common condition caused by an irregular curvature of the eye’s cornea or lens, leading to blurred or distorted vision. It may worsen with age and can also cause eye strain, headaches, and poor night vision. Properly fitted glasses or contact lenses can correct it.
How do we check for astigmatism?
Our astigmatism check uses a semicircle of black lines that appear in different shades of grey if astigmatism is present. We’ll ask if you can see any grey shades. Please note, this check is not a substitute for a professional eye exam.

5. Watch the dot
The visual field check can detect issues in your field of vision.
Why do I need to check my visual field?
The visual field is described as the space in which we perceive light and detect objects. This space can be reduced by certain eye diseases or neurological causes and may worsen over time. A normal central field of vision is important to many everyday tasks such as reading and office work. Our peripheral field of vision provides us with essential input while looking at things far away and driving a car.
How do we check your field of vision?
Our visual field check uses a grid-like structure based on the clinically trusted Amsler test. Each eye is screened individually, where you focus on a central point and confirm if you can see all parts of the grid equally. Irregularities may show up as distorted or missing lines.
