Our wide selection of progressive lens designs enables your optician to produce a pair of progressive glasses optimised for your particular vision needs and featuring unprecedented quality. Cutting-edge computer technology assists in measuring visual performance and fitting the lenses to your frames. The near, intermediate and distance zones are all incorporated into one lens with smooth transitions. These lenses are tailor-made for your facial shape, your lifestyle, your career and your visual habits. Individual and one-of-a kind – just like you.

Seeing digital. Progressive lenses for a modern world.

These days we're constantly using our smartphones or tablets, but these digital devices pose a new challenge for our eyes. ZEISS progressive lenses incorporate these changes in our everyday lives and enable fast, comfortable focusing thanks to a specially optimised near zone – no matter where you're looking. These lenses are not only perfect for digital devices, but also books and magazines, helping you avoid uncomfortable head and body posture.

Smooth, perfect vision – no matter where you look.

A lens design that is as complex as it is comfortable: ZEISS progressive lenses provide you with clear vision immediately whenever you shift your eyes. And the transition is smooth as can be, finally making blurred images in the transitional zone a thing of the past.

Aesthetically thin, exceptionally light. Uncompromising design.

No matter if they're made of plastic or glass: cutting-edge production methods enable the manufacture of incredibly thin, light lenses, even with a high prescription and special visual impairments. You'll barely notice you're wearing these lightweight champions at all.

ZEISS Lenses with UVProtect Technology

Ultraviolet (UV) radiation is always there. All year round, all day, whether it's winter or summer, in sunny conditions or even on cloudy days when UV exposure can reach 70-75% at ground level. UV radiation actually has several beneficial effects for us including vitamin D production via skin exposure. It also stimulates the production of melanin, your body's own protection against sunburn that causes a tanned complexion.

However, if your unprotected skin is exposed to UV radiation for a prolonged period, it can cause damage such as photo-aging, wrinkles, and in severe cases, skin cancer.

Don't risk your eye health

To protect the skin, we wear sunscreen, but we really don't have a lot of options when it comes to protecting our eyes against harmful UV rays. It is often forgotten that UV rays are also harmful to our long-term eye health and that it can cause damage to the area around the eyes. Unfortunately, only 1 out of 5 lenses fully block UV radiation up to 400 nm. That means the other 4 out of the 5 lenses don't block or only marginally block UV radiation. As a result, UV rays are transmitted through the lens and can potentially harm both your eyes and skin.

This lack in protection can lead to harmful eye diseases and accelerated aging of the tissue surrounding the eyes such as:

ZEISS UVProtect Technology in all clear ZEISS lenses

UV protection is recommended against harmful UV rays up to 400 nm. That's why ZEISS is creating a new standard of care by including full UV protection in all clear ZEISS plastic lenses starting this year.

The UV camera shows what that means: clear ZEISS lenses with UVProtect Technology appear as dark as sunglasses because UV rays are completely blocked by the lens.

ZEISS DuraVision® BlueProtect - ideal for indoor activities

Targeted blue light protection for clear lenses

The effect of blue light on our vision is currently a topic of discussion as we are exposed to light waves with blue components both indoors and outdoors. On the one hand, we need blue light for a healthy body and our general well-being. On the other hand, blue light can be dangerous – especially in strong sunshine. We protect ourselves with sunglass lenses. However, we are now exposed to more blue light than ever before due to modern light sources such as LED lighting and the radiation emitted by display devices. Do you work at a computer every day for long periods of time and in rooms with modern lighting systems? Some people find that the blue light emitted by lights and displays makes them feel tired and uncomfortable. Clear lenses with the ZEISS DuraVision BlueProtect coating offer a hard coating and Clean Coat technology to make them easier to clean as well as a blue filter which attenuates blue light in the range from 390 to 440 nm (wavelength of blue light hazard).

Protection against harmful blue-violet light for clear lenses

1.Helpful for wearers who have misgivings concerning the potentially harmful effects of blue-violet light indoors and who are looking for the appropriate protection

2.ZEISS DuraVision BlueProtect is a new coating for clear lenses featuring a blue filter which attenuates blue light in the range from 390 to 440 nm.

3.However, it lets through the "healthy" blue light we need for our bodies. Studies have shown that blue light in the range between 400 and 520 nm (with a maximum at 460 nm) is very important for regulating the level of melatonin and therefore for controlling our biorhythm and wellbeing.

4.Hard coating and CleanCoat for easy cleaning - it's all included.

Who needs DuraVision BlueProtect®?

Protection against blue-violet light, also indoors

ZEISS DuraVision BlueProtect is a special lens coating for people who spend a lot of their time indoors and are exposed to the potentially harmful blue light emitted by LEDs, televisions, computer screens or tablets and who feel irritated by this.

Blue light filter solutions from ZEISS.

The right product to protect against potentially harmful blue-violet light – for everyone

The ZEISS product portfolio for protection against potentially harmful blue light offers the right solution for everyone.

Skylet and PhotoFusion from ZEISS are tinted and self-tinting lenses that filter blue light of various intensities while providing 100% UV protection. DuraVision BlueProtect is now completing the portfolio with a special functional coating that partly reduces blue light. Ideal for use in indoor facilities with low levels of blue light.

ZEISS Digital Lenses.

The remedy to Digital Eyestrain.

On average, we look at our smartphones, tablets or TV screens for almost five hours every day. And we glance at our mobile phones as many as 80 times a day! And these figures are set to rise in the future. Small font sizes and the constant switching of our viewing focus from near to far objects demands the utmost from our eyes. From the age of 30 onwards, this can lead to digital eyestrain or, as the experts put it, the Computer Vision Syndrome. ZEISS Digital Lenses offer the perfect remedy by enabling fast, comfortable focusing thanks a specially optimised near zone – no matter where we look. These lenses are ideal not only for digital devices, but also for reading books and magazines.

The world in pixels – a challenge for our eyes.

The increasing use of smartphones, navigation devices, e-readers and tablets is also changing our visual behaviour: our eyes are having to become accustomed to a new range of near vision to accommodate the shorter distance at which we hold digital devices compared to a newspaper or a book. And they also require our eyes to constantly switch between different distances. This is a situation that demands a lot – often too much – from our eyes: more and more people are becoming shortsighted or are complaining about problems with their eyes or general health as a result.

What is Digital Eyestrain?

The use of digital technology demands the utmost from our eyes. In just a fraction of a second they have to move between far and near: from viewing something in the distance to small displays, tiny fonts and tightly packed information –and then back again. This places extreme strain on the ciliary muscle and the lens of the eye which have to constantly re-adapt to ensure that what we see is clearly focused. Headache and neck strain, burning or tired eyes may be the result, particularly as we get older. In Germany, for example, 50 percent of the population suffer from one or more of these symptoms, i.e. from visual stress.

Relaxed, comfortable vision. With lenses for the digital world.

ZEISS Digital Lenses are sharply focused on the use of digital devices such as e-readers or smartphones. Special optimisation of the near zone takes into account the typical movements of the eyes and shorter reading distance required by these devices. This design optimally supports the ciliary muscle, therefore making it easier for the wearer to focus their vision in the near and distance ranges. This may help to prevent symptoms of fatigue. The ideal glasses for all-day use – and not only for digital natives.

The right solution for everyone.

Digital Lenses, Office Lenses and Progressive Lenses – how do they differ?

Up to every challenge. While the ZEISS Digital Lenses have been specially optimised for near vision and are suitable for all-day use, ZEISS Office Lenses are designed as an additional pair of glasses for people who notice that they are starting to have problems with vision at mid and near viewing distances – the typical range of vision required in the office, for example. ZEISS progressive lenses, on the other hand, offer an individualised design for clear, focused vision at near, far and everything in-between.
